Founders releases Sumatra Mountain Brown

Sumatra Mountain Brown gets its body from a team of malts, including Caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of Chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops bring balance to the malty sweetness by introducing a touch of bitterness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced brown ale to a decadent level. Sumatra Mountain Brown comes in at a hefty 9% ABV.

Thursday, May 5: Cinco de Mayo with White Street Brewing Co.

  • Yes, we know… Cinco de Mayo is not a Cape Fear Wine & Beer holiday. You’ll never find mediocre imports adorning a lime wedge. Our friend Jason from White Street Brewing Co. of Wake Forest, NC will be in town that night for a fun Randall with their Hoptimist IPA.  We’re going to turn it into Hoptimista with limes, chili peppers, and super fresh Holmes Brothers cascade hops from the gorgeous mountains of NC. We’ll have a couple of supporting drafts (Kolsch & Scottish Ale) too. The fun starts at 7 PM.

  • Massage Monday: 5-8 PM $10 for 10 minutes with licensed therapist, Josh Lentz.
  • Beer Flights: nine 5 oz samples for $18.
  • Monday Night Nitro: $1 off nitrogen pours.

  • Beer Church: This week, we’ll be hosting Olde Hickory, OG’s of the NC beer scene since 1994. We’ll have Redeemer Double IPA, Table Rock Pale Ale & Piedmont Pils on tap with logo pint glasses. First mass is at 1 PM and second mass is at 8 PM.
